# What is COD confirmation call?

A COD confirmation call phones a cash-on-delivery customer after they place an order to confirm the order, address and intent to accept delivery.

Cash-on-delivery orders in India are prone to returns to origin (RTO) when the customer is unreachable, changes their mind or gave a wrong address. A short confirmation call catches many of these before the parcel ships.

Good calls confirm name, address and pincode, offer to fix mistakes and record the answer so the order can be held, shipped or cancelled automatically.
