What is Barge-in?
Barge-in is when a caller interrupts the AI while it is speaking, and the AI stops talking and listens.
People interrupt each other constantly. An agent without barge-in keeps talking over the caller, which feels robotic. An agent that stops at every cough or "hmm" feels jumpy.
The right setting depends on the line: noisy lines need less sensitivity, and short acknowledgements like "haan" or "hmm" should usually not stop the agent.
At Vyora: Vyora lets you choose whether the agent stops the moment a caller speaks, ignores short sounds, or keeps going until the caller really takes over.
Common questions
- Why does my AI agent keep stopping mid-sentence?
- Barge-in sensitivity is probably too high for the line's background noise. Lower it or ignore short sounds.
