What is Text-to-speech (TTS)?
Text-to-speech turns written text into spoken audio, the voice a caller hears from an AI voice agent.
Modern TTS sounds natural, with pauses and intonation. For phone use, the things that matter are language and accent fit, speed, pronunciation of names and numbers, and how fast the first word arrives after the caller stops speaking.
Pronunciation is the usual weak spot: brand names, drug names and Indian proper nouns may need correction.
At Vyora: Vyora offers a voice picker across its supported languages and lets you fix mispronounced words.
Common questions
- Can I choose the voice my agent uses?
- Most platforms offer a catalogue of voices per language. Pick one that suits your audience and test it on real numbers and names.
