Send a WhatsApp message after a call

Updated

Quick answer

Vyora does not send WhatsApp messages to your contacts by itself. On the Business plan, add a "Send to another app" step after the Call step in a Workflow, and point it at your WhatsApp provider's API, such as AiSensy, Interakt or Wati, with your own account and an approved template.

How WhatsApp follow-up works

There is no built-in "send WhatsApp" step. Messages to your contacts go out from your own WhatsApp Business account, through a provider you already use. Vyora passes the call details to that provider after the call.

You need:

  • The Business plan. Workflows are a Business feature.
  • An account with a WhatsApp provider that has an API, such as AiSensy, Interakt or Wati.
  • A template approved by Meta in that provider's account. Messages to a contact who has not written to you first must use an approved template.
  • Your provider's API key.

The provider bills you for messages under your own plan with them.

Set it up

  1. Create and get approval for the template in your provider's dashboard.
  2. In Vyora, open Workflows and create or open a workflow.
  3. Add a Call step with your agent.
  4. After it, add a Send to another app step.
  5. Enter your provider's API address, add the API key where your provider expects it (some want it as a header, AiSensy wants it inside the request), and write the request in What to send (JSON).
  6. Click the fields below the box to insert call details: Name, Phone, Phone (no country code), Call summary, Call status, and your agent's post-call answers.
  7. Publish the workflow and run it for a contact list.

To send the message only in some cases, for example only when the lead did not answer, put the step on that branch of the workflow.

Step-by-step guides with the exact request for each provider:

If the provider rejects the message

Vyora always finishes the workflow, even if your provider refuses the request, so one failed message does not stop the next calls. Common reasons a provider refuses:

  • The API key is wrong or expired.
  • The template name or campaign name does not match exactly.
  • The number of template variables does not match the template.

Check the provider's own message log to see why.

Keep your provider API key private. If a key was ever pasted into a workflow you no longer trust, create a new key in the provider's dashboard and update the step.

WhatsApp alerts to yourself are different

The WhatsApp number you verify with an OTP before your first campaign is only for alerts to you: campaign updates and low-credit warnings. It never messages your contacts. See WhatsApp OTP verification fails.

Not on Business?

Without Workflows you can export call results from the Calls page (Builder and above) and upload them to your WhatsApp provider, or use the Vyora API and webhooks to send results to your own system.
